Selim Baklacı, who came first at ‘Project Runway Turkey’ 2007, was born in Switzerland in 1986. Baklacı took his first fashion education at Rüştü Uzel College, Ready to wear department. He graduated from Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, Textile programme in 2008. Introduced his first collection ‘Kibir’ (Arrogance) as the closing show of Istanbul Fashion Fair in 2007. In 2008, presented his 2009 Fall-Winter collection with ‘Bridges To Fashion’ organisation, which is Turkey-Netherlands-England collaborated organisation, as a fashion show and exhibition in Rotterdam Historic Museum. Presented his collection named ‘ Fast Couture’ in Berlinische Gallery in August 2011.Between 2008-2011, Baklacı instructed ‘Creative Drapery’ classes at the Istanbul Fashion Academy. In 2010, he found the first online designer boutique in Turkey as shop.selimbaklaci.com (between 2010-2012). In 2012, exhibited his 2013 Spring-Summer collection in Istanbul Fashion Week. Following years, Baklacı exhibited his 2013 Summer collection for St Petersburg Olympus Foundation at The Catherine Palace in Russia and he introduced his 2014-2015 Fall-Winter collection as a Studio presentatio in Istanbul Fashion Week... Selim Baklacı, set free the look of men and women, he redesigned the different styled clothes to much more sportive appearance. His passion is using different and various colours, patterns and materials.
